Pulmonary function testing (PFT) is a fundamental procedure for providers who care for patients with lung disease or respiratory complaints. This interactive, hands-on course will expose you to practical, evidence-based methods for performing and interpreting PFTs, as well as operating a PFT lab. Faculty who subspecialize in PFT will teach you how to administer testing on site using methods like lung volume measurement and maximal respiratory pressures.
  • Technical aspects of performing PFT calibration, maneuvers, and testing, including spirometry, diffusing capacity, lung volumes, and more
  • Analytic skills for performing optimal PFTs
  • High-level interpretation strategies for PFT that you can incorporate into your daily practice
  • Regular quality control processes for all pulmonary function procedures performed in the laboratory
