Expert pathologists and a medical oncologist will discuss current guidelines and their own practices regarding the role of liquid biopsy and comprehensive genetic and PD-L1 testing in the management of advanced lung cancer. The panelists will discuss the various strategies for optimizing the quantity and quality of cytology and small volume biopsy specimens.

Objectives
At the end of this webinar, the learners will be able to:

  1. Provide strategies for translating recommendations to clinical practice relevant to comprehensive molecular testing in lung cancer
  2. Improve knowledge of current tumor and blood biomarkers associated with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and their relevance for personalized care and targeted therapies
  3. Address identified barriers associated with obtaining adequate tissue samples to support the diagnosis and management of NSCLC
  4. Improve cognitive and technical knowledge associated with tumor specimen collection and the ability to utilize next generation sequencing (NGS) and PD-L1 testing for NSCLC
  5. Identify steps to overcome the common obstacles for optimal testing, including: Insufficient tissue for testing, lack of infrastructure in obtaining and sending biopsy samples, long turnaround times for results, and challenges regarding reimbursement
Program made possible in part by an independent educational grant from AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals, an educational grant from Genentech, a member of the Roche Group, and an independent medical education grant from Merck Sharp & Dohme Corp.
As of November 2023, MOC points will be claimed separately from CME credit and submitted instantaneously. Learners will be required to enter their date of birth and American Board of Internal Medicine ID numbers when claiming MOC points.
