The Severe Asthma Twitter Education Program will include three distinct online components. First, a two-part tweetorial will be facilitated over a two-day period, with each tweetorial generating approximately 10-15 tweets to address the learning objectives of the program. Each tweetorial will be supplemented with multimedia in the form of infographics, videos, short animations, and polling. A week following the two-part tweetorial, a live Twitter chat twill be presented featuring an expert severe asthma clinician that will be moderated by the Chair of CHEST's Social Media Workgroup. Two months following the live Twitter chat, CHEST will facilitate a mini-tweetorial featuring five tweets that revisit key messages and learnings from the previous tweetorial and Twitter chat. Polling questions will be used to collect data on self-reported outcomes from the education.

Course Objectives:

  • Identify current and emerging effective therapeutics that address triggers/mediators of inflammation in asthma.
  • Discuss the epithelial cytokine (IL-25, IL-33) and thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP) response in asthma.
As of November 2023, MOC points will be claimed separately from CME credit and submitted instantaneously. Learners will be required to enter their date of birth and American Board of Internal Medicine ID numbers when claiming MOC points.
