Race against the clock as you troubleshoot scenarios in the medical ICU to be crowned Vent Champion! Participants will be faced with questions and simulated ventilator alarms in three categories: easy, intermediate, and hard. Be on the lookout for bonuses and penalties both in points and time as you try to get to the top of the leaderboard. Each question is followed by a learning slide.

Session Objectives:
  1. Name the physiologic principles utilized by mechanical ventilation.
  2. Interpret ventilator waveforms with your understanding of mechanics.
  3. Apply knowledge of mechanics to troubleshoot ventilator alarms.
  4. Compare changes in physiology across different ventilator modes.
  5. Identify special circumstances that require ventilator adjustment.
